Rev. Abbott was born in Shelby county, Ohio, September 19, 1841, the son of William H. Abbott and Susannah Woodring Abbott.
He married Jane Lambert at Troy Miami County, Ohio, December 31, 1863.
He is a retired U.B. minister and was a Civil war veteran. He entered the service the 13th day of August, 1862, as a private, Co. H regiment 99, and re-enlisted in Co. K regiment 29 and discharged on the 7 day of May 1863 as a private.
Surviving are the widow and the following children: Alred S. of Tampa, Fla; Nelson W., of Van Wert, O; Rosa A. Hetrick, of Craigville; Merritt C. of Churubusco; Edgar C., of Ft. Wayne. He also had served as a justice of the peace in Lancaster township.
Four children, one brother and four sisters are deceased.
The funeral will be held at the U.B. church in Craigville in charge of Rev. F.D. Pugh. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery.
The funeral will be at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon.
