Alice Vivian Carney, 88, of Yoder, a former Kitco worker in Bluffton, died at 5:25 a.m. today at Wells Community Hospital.

She was a homemaker and was employed 13 years at Kitco Inc. as a manufacturing inspector. She was a member of the Tillman Road Church of God.

She was born in Bluffton Jan. 22, 1912 to Merritt C. and Arla M. Drum Abbott. Her marriage on May 6, 1939 in Fort Wayne was to Arva Carney, who died in November 1992.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha Ann Gordon of Griffin, Ga.; a son, Stanley A. Carney of Yoder; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased.

Services at 1 p.m. Monday will be at Elzey & Haggard Funeral Home, Ossian Chapel, with Rev. Clifford Black officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Craigville.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
