BROOKLYN- Archie J. Lefevre, 91, of Proulx St., formerly of Dayville, died on Tuesday at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Mathieu) Lefevre, who died on Oct. 17, 1992. They were married on Sept. 9, 1942 at St. Joseph Church in Dayville. Mr. Lefevre was born in Killingly on April 6, 1915, the son of the late Joseph and Parmelia (Proulx) Lefevre. He attended the Dayville School. Upon completion of his education, he worked at Assawauga Mill in Dayville. He then worked at the Wm. Prym Co. in Dayville. He started off in packing and shipping and worked there for thirtyeight years. When he retired from there in March 1978, he was Foreman of the Packing Department. Mr. Lefevre was an avid sports fan and sports participant. He played with local leagues as a semipro player as a shortstop. In 1937, he played with the St. Louis Cardinals Farm Organization. In 1955, he was one of the original founders of the Quinebaug Valley Little League. He was both a coach and manager for many years. He loved golf and fishing and was an avid supporter of Killingly's Sports Programs. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Dayville and was a collector at that church for fiftyseven years. He leaves a son, David Lefevre and his wife Barbara of Goodyear, AZ; two daughters, Paula LaHaie and her husband Gil of St. Petersburg, FL and Arlene Gauthier and her husband Brad of Danielson; six grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Peter, Frederick, William, John and Wilfred Lefevre; and four sisters, Dalma Cote, Roselda Lefevre, Rose Holgerson and Pauline Edwards. Funeral from the GagnonCostello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson on Monday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Dayville. Burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, Dayville.
