Benjamin Samuel Blitch enlisted in Clinch's Lt Battery of the Confederate Army in Apr. 1861. He was captured at Ft. McAllister on 13 Dec 1864 and was a seven month P.O.W. After Lee surrendered, he was on his way home and died 2 Mar 1865 near Greensboro, NC. Obediah, his brother who was with him, fell out of rank, rolled him in his blanket and buried him. The location of his burial is unknown at this time.
