MRS. JULIA LOOMIS
Died Last Night at Home of Her Son.
Mrs. Julia D. Loomis, aged 80 years widow of Warren Loomis, died Monday evening at the home of her son Asa F. Loomis of Union street.
She had been ill only about a week, though her health had been failing for some time.
Mrs. Loomis was born in Shaftsbury August 21, 1832. Her entire life had been passed in the town of her birth and in North Bennington and this village. She was married May 31, 1855. Her husband died March 23, 1884. Her maiden name was Miss Julia Mattison.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church of North Bennington and was a woman of a kind and obliging disposition and one with a large number of friends.
Surviving are four sons, Asa F. of Bennington, J. H. and Leland Loomis of Shaftsbury and Frank D. Loomis of Pittsfield and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Percy of this village.
The funeral will be held from the house Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. W.F. Meyer of the First Baptist church, assisted by Rev. W.I. Coburn of the North Bennington Baptist church, will officiate.
