J.J. Fowler, father of Mrs. Sam White of Stamford, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.B. Diggs, in Amarillo, Jan. 3. The remains were shipped by railway to Stamford and the funeral was held at St. John’s Methodist church Sunday, the 5th, at 3 p.m., Rev. Carl Clement in charge of the services. Interment was made in Highland cemetery, with Kinney Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Deceased was born May 1, 1858, in the state of Alabama. His wife died in Stamford May 18, 1936.

Survived: three sons - C.F. Fowler of Abilene; M.T. Fowler of Throckmorton; D.D. Fowler of Stephenville; T.M. Fowler of San Antonio; 2 daughters - Mrs. J.B. Diggs of Amarillo and Mrs. Sam White of Stamford; 12 grandchildren. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years. He has lived in Amarillo for 15 years.
