Notice of Memorial Service

A memorial service for Gene Edward Creighton, of Eufaula, Alabama, formerly of Pensacola, Florida, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2009, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1100 East Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the memorial service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Following the memorial service, a private graveside service for the family will be held at Whitmire Cemetery. Rev. Walk Jones and Rev. Al Reese will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to The Living Waters Project in care of First Presbyterian Church, 201 N. Randolph Ave., Eufaula, AL 36027.
We will continue to cherish Gene through memories of the laughter we shared together, the tender moments, the good times, and in all the lives he touched...family, friends, former students, and even strangers. Gene was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and teacher. Words cannot express the depth of our grief, and how much he is missed.
The Creighton family celebrates its 50th annual reunion the first weekend in August. We will come together at Grotto Hall, as we have for many years. In preparation for this special reunion, Gene researched Creighton genealogy and was looking forward to sharing all that he had learned. Though the family will now gather without him, his spirit will be among us. If Gene could share a message with his family on that reunion day, it would be to instill within the Creighton family youth a curiosity about the richness of their ancestral history, and the importance of love for family.
