Daughter of John and Elizabeth Crite McConnell. Her father was a Confederate soldier who survived the war, but died in 1869 at the age of 32. Mrs. King had two sisters, Barbara and Paralee. (Reference Parlee Pennsylvania McConnell Gunter, Memorial# 146675916.)

Circa 1877, Eliza King married Silas Napoleon King, the son of George and Mary Price King. The couple had a large family, including:
