Aunt Helen, the oldest girl, went to "Normal School" taught school and was a private secretary. Had a lot of talents. She liked to cook but it was not her forte. Both Uncle Al and Uncle John her husbands did most of the cooking. She did make a good prune cake and at Christmas time made fruitcakes. When we would come to Columbus we would stay with her. She did move to Warren, Jackson and Circleville for several years, wherever the State Highway Patrol transferred Uncle John. She lived a full life until Alzheimer's disease got hold of her. After Uncle John passed away she made her home staying her siblings so that they could nurture and take care of her. (She is buried with her second husband John Brooks at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway.)
