Indian Campaigns Medal of Honor Recipient. He entered the US Army in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served as a Private in Company B, 8th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for actions in the vicinity of the Black Mountains, Arizona Territory, during August 13 and October 31, 1868. His citation reads "Bravery in scouts and actions against Indians."
