Earl D. Abbott, 61 of 224 NW Eighth St., Faribault, died Monday evening, June 3 in Rice County District One Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour, the Very Rev. Thomas E. Winkler, dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Northfield, with veteran military rites provided by the Rice County Veterans Service Organization. Visitation will be held in the Boldt Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and prior to the services Thursday. Earl D. Abbott, son of J. Elmer and Sarah Gray Abbott, was born May 18, 1924 in Creston, Iowa. He married Helen Hall on June 4, 1949 in Northfield. He was employed as a plumber in the building industry. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Karen of Lake Crystal, Nanette of Faribault and Mrs. Bryan (Lisa) Anne of Farmington; three sisters, Mrs. Homer (Thelma) Riddler of Greenfield, Iowa, Dorothy Berry of Isle and Mrs. Floyd (Velta) Price of Mountain View, Mo. and three brothers, Roland of Chino Valley, Ariz., Wayne of Frederic, Wis. and Verl of Pella, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
