Alma was a beautiful woman all her life. She said she married 5 times but could have married more because she was a beautiful woman. She was not being boastful, just honest. Even as an older woman she was beautiful. She married (1) Charles R. Grissom in 1906; they had a son named James Edward they called Jim Ed, (2) Alford or Alfred Higgins in 1912; they had a son named Josephus Edmond everyone called Baby Higgins who died young, (3) Sam Stevens in 1921, (4) James Andrew Webster (her second cousin and love of her life) in 1925 (he died in 1927 at age 37) and (5) William Henry Emerson "Uncle Heck". - Pat McCown Throneberry, Family Historian, October 2020
