William Jacques Spencer, 71, of R.D. 2, State Line Road, Hubbard, died of a heart ailment at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in North Side Hospital. He had been in ill health for the past two years. A son of Uriah and Eliza Jacques Spencer, he was born in Sharon PA on Nov. 22, 1877. A resident of the Sharon area most of his life, he moved to rural Hubbard about twelve years ago. Mr. Spencer was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in New Bedford PA. He was a retired farmer. His wife, the former Elizabeth Ann Sculthorp, died in 1944. He leaves a son Howard, with whom he made his home; another son, Gerald, of Mentor; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Werner and Miss Elizabeth E. Spencer, both of Masury; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home. Officiating minister was Rev. Fred J. Lenk, and interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Sharon PA.
