Mark was an avid Expo's fan and was saddened by their demise. With a special thanks to those who had the grace to know Mark, the family wishes to thank the Shriners for the long and extended work they provided for Mark in their Montreal Hospital. Additionally, Mark's special friends at the Olde Tyme Cafe were greatly appreciated. Mark certainly enjoyed their coffee and camaraderie. His friend Sandy Kelly was instrumental in orchestrating one of Mark's wishes, with two trips to the ocean so Mark could finally visit the sea. The Rouses Point - Champlain Historical Society should also be remembered for including Mark in their functions. So many people touched Mark's life and in return, we were all given an exemplary role model of one who faces adversity and SMILES.
Mark is predeceased by his parents, John Stafford Lombard and Janis (Fleury) Lombard, who passed away in 1989.
He is survived by his brother, Stephen Lombard of Plattsburgh; his youngest brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Betsy Lombard and their daughter Dianne of Plattsburgh. Additionally, he is survived by two uncles and aunts, Clayton and Charlene Lombard of Peru, N.Y., and Ronald and Theresa Lombard of Clermont, Fla.; along with several cousins. Special mention should also be made to the Roger Conant family who did so much for Mark.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon at M.B. Clark, Inc. Funeral Home on Lake Street in Rouses Point Monday, July 7. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.
People wishing to honor Mark's life may do so at a reception at the Plattsburgh Elks Club from 3 to 5 p.m. following the services.
