MICHAEL KAHOA

Michael Kahoa was born at Jersey City, N. J., July 4, 1832, and died at his home in Russell, Iowa, April 4, 1908, aged 75 years and 9 months.

He was married to Mrs. Ann A. Prather at LaGrange, on Jan. 22, 1864. Four daughters preceded him in death, Cora, Jennie, Pearl and Lenna. Those left to mourn for him are, his wife and four sons, Thomas and Alfonzo, of Grimes, Oklahoma, Clifton, of Leslie, Arkansas, and Charles, of Russell, Iowa, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Hancock, of Melrose, Iowa.

He was a soldier in the civil war and served in Company I, 8th Iowa Infantry. He was a member of the G.A.R. of Russell.

Funeral services were held at the house, Sunday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m. Prayer and Scripture reading were conducted by Rev. B. J. Shenton, after which the G.A.R. Post had charge of the services. Interment was made in the Russell cemetery.

Michael Kahoa was born at Jersey City, N. J., July 4, 1832, and died at his home in Russell, Iowa, April 4, 1908, aged 75 years and 9 months.
