SUTTERFIELD
After a lingering illness of consumption, Mrs. Nannie Sutterfield's earthly life was peacefully closed, Monday, Nov. 26th, 1900, at the home of her aged father, Mr. William Vanfleet, near town. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church, an affectionate mother, a loving sister and dutiful daughter. She left to her son-Mr. Philip Sutterfield-an example of Christian influence worthy of emulation, and the sweet memories of his mother in Israel will ever be as a guiding star to his pathway. Her funeral service, perfect in its impressiveness, was conducted at Berea, by her esteemed pastor, Dr. J. F. Williams, the day following. Her four brothers, Messrs. Hartfort, Walter, Burdette and Joseph Vanfleet, her nephew, Mr. Wm. Powers, were the pall bearers, and lovingly they carried her lifeless remains, beautiful in death, to their last resting place in the quiet church-yard. To her bereft father, kind step-mother, two sisters, Misses Mollie and Maggie Vanfleet, her brothers and son we extend our
sympathies.
