Died of acute leukemia. He was the son of Emanuel and Leontina Suess. He served in the U. S. Navy from July 1, 1944 and served on the USS New Orleans during the Battle of Okinawa. He was honorably discharged June 7, 1946. Roland was a CPA and Lawyer, practicing law in North Dakota and Montana. He was married to Beverly Hanson and they had three sons, David, John and Paul.
