Magdalena "Lena" Wittrock was born in Holstein, Germany 06 Jun 1841. She married Henry "Heinie" Witt in 1857 in Germany when she was just 17 years old.
They came to America in 1873 and settled in Boone, Iowa. They brought with them their four children born in Germany. Eventually they had 6 more children born in Iowa.
Magdalena's parents were:
Henry Wittrock b: 11 Mar 1813 in Germany d: 11 Jun 1893, he is buried in Arcadia, Iowa.
Maria (Peve) Wittrock: b: 1813 in Germany d: 1861 in Germany.
Magdalena's father remarried: Wiebke Schroeder-Degen Wittrock (b: 1829 d: 1918)
Magdalena's father and siblings came to America before she did.
After her husband, Henry's death she continued to live in Emerson, Nebraska. The 1930's census shows her age as 88, living with her daughter, Minnie Frost and her family in Emerson.
Magdalena "Lena" died in 1930 and is buried in Rose Hill cemetery in Emerson Nebraska next to her husband.
