John and Sarah had 10 children that we know about. They were Elinor, Priscilla, Sarah (b: 25 Mar 1740 in Baltimore, married William Ady), Mary (b: 13 Mar 1741 in Baltimore, Elizabeth (b:9 Aug 1743 in Baltimore, married Robert Thrap, d: abt. 1821 in Muskingum, Ohio), William (married Elizabeth Greenfield), John, James, Patience and Abraham.
In the name of God Amen, I, John Hilton of Baltimore County in the province of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in mannon (manner?) following.
Imprimes I recommend my Immortal Soul to the mercy of Almighty God and my body I ordain to be decently and in a Christian manner Buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as for my Worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth
Item. I give bequeath and devise unto my loving wife Sarah Hilton all my Estate wholy and ... during her widowhood excepting my son John Maire and Coalt (John's mare and colt) and my Son James('s) horse and my son William Coalte (William's Colt) and my son Abraham Coalt (Abraham's colt) and my desire is that my daughter Priscilla shall have a cow and calfe and three yoes (ewes) and lambs and my desire is at my wifes decease that my son John and my son James and my son William and my son Abraham and my daughter Elnor and my daughter Pations (Patience) shall have the Estate as my wife thinks proper.
In wittness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of December 1776.
Sealled signed publisht pronounced and delivered in the presence of Richard Cole and James E. Eliott. John Hilton (H his mark)
Baltimore County to wit on the 14th day of April 1784 came Richard Cole and James Eliott Sen. subscribing evidences to the afore going last Will and Testament of John Hilton late of said County deceased and made oath etc that they did see the Testator sign and seal this will that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound disposing mind memory and understanding and that they subscribed their names as witnesses at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other sworn before me register of Wills for Baltimore County.
