Mr. Clyde Edward Mitchell, 82, of 250 Monroeton Road Reidsville, N.C. went to be with his Lord on Sunday June 14, 2009 at Annie Penn Hospital Reidsville, NC.

A Funeral Mass will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Holy Infant Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.

A native of Pittsylvania County, VA he was a son of the late Joshua and Maude Wells Mitchell and had lived in Rockingham County for most of his life. A retired employee of American Tobacco Co. A member of Holy Infant Catholic Church, he was a former member of the Dixie Bassmasters, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and gardening and was preceded in death by his wife: Katherine Foust Mitchell, 3 sisters and 7 brothers.

He served as a Private in the Army during World War II.

Surviving: Daughter: Debbie Mitchell Powell of Reidsville, N.C.; 2 Sons: Eddie Mitchell of Reidsville, N.C., Mike Mitchell and wife Christy of Reidsville, N.C.; Sister-In-Law: Pauline Jackson of Reidsville, N.C.; 4 Grandchildren: Robert Daniels and wife Jennifer, Michael Powell, Casey Brooke Mitchell, Michael Keith Mitchell, Jr.
