Laura M. Wenning, 55, Cashmere, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Central Washington Hospital.
She was born Dec. 22, 1929, at Centralia and moved to Cashmere in 1954. She had been employed by Cascoa Growers. She married John J. Wenning on June 21, 1962 at Walla Walla and they had lived in Cashmere since that time. Mrs. Wenning was a member of the Dryden Community Church.
Survivors include her husband, John, Cashmere; two sons, Calvin Reel of Lewiston, Idaho and Rick Wenning, Yakima; a stepson, Ralph, Seattle; a daughter, Pamela Ells, Cashmere; a brother, Virgil Griggs, Colo.; three sisters, Grace Dunham, Salem, Ore., Martha Lammon, Kent, and Bertha Hankey, Edmonds; and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Dryden Community Church with the Rev. Donald Bletscher officiating. Harvey Radach sang "'Does Jesus Care" and "A Closer Walk With Thee" with Alma Radach as organist.
Burial took place in the Cashmere Cemetery with the following pallbearers: Otto Grams, Otto Goehner, Bill Goehner, Leo Radach, John Martensen and John Gerlack. Memorials are suggested to the Chelan County Historical Museum or Dryden Community Church.
