Dorsey Carlton, 73, resident of this city for the past ten years, died at his home here on Wednesday, September 9; and funeral services were held the following afternoon at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. S.G. Shepard of the Baptist church conducted the service and burial was in Maple Cemetery.
Mr. Carlton was born August 8, 1880 in Gibson county, Tenn. and on March 19, 1905, in Lake county, he was married to Miss Elizabeth May Schull. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Carlton of this city and three sons, Robert Carlton of Caruthersville, Harold of Ridgely, Tenn. and John Carlton of Memphis.
