__Ann Weber, 74, of Monticello, passed away June 11, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a stroke. In accordance with her wishes, an informal memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 20, from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Camp Courageous of Iowa.
__Anna Mae Van Zante was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Pella, Iowa, the daughter of Peter M. and Jenny (Hoeksema) Van Zante. She graduated from Pella High School in 1952 and attended Iowa State University and The University of Iowa. Ann Van Zante and Kenneth H. Weber were married Nov. 26, 1959, in Des Moines. They moved to Monticello in 1963. Through the years Ann held various jobs as a bookkeeper and tax preparer.
__Ann was active in League of Women Voters, Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts and Jones County Hiking Association. She was secretary of the Church Council of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church and volunteered with the cake baking group at Camp Courageous. She also served as an election official for many years. Ann loved being in the outdoors and was an avid hiker.
__Survivors include her husband, Ken; her daughter, Pamela Weber Rosenfeld and her husband, Richard, of Basalt, Colo.; her son, Gordon Weber and his children, Kahla, Greg and Jenny, of Minneapolis; her brother, Dick Van Zante of Pella and his descendants; and her half sister, Jeanne Van Zante of South Carolina.
__In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Ann's name to The Camp Courageous Foundation, PO Box 418, Monticello, IA 52310.
