per a Jan 1929 Register of the Ky State Historical Soc:
"Sacred to the Memory of Robert Rodes, who was born in Albemarle, Virginia, on
the 11th day of May, A.D. 1759. After participating in the Amer. Rev. he
emigrated to Ky. at an early period of its settlement. As a soldier, citizen
and judge, he was prompt, patriotic and just, a kind husband, an anxious parent
and a faithful friend. The whole tenor of his life exhibits a good specimen of
practical usefulness. He lived beloved and died lamented, in the 60th year of
his age, on the 20th day of November, 1818." "Note - Judge Robert Rodes removed
to Madison Co., Ky., in 1783; represented that County in the Convention at
Danville, 1787. On the formation of the State he was appointed one of the
Justices of Madison County, later was a Judge of the Circuit Court."
