She was born on May 9, 1936 a daughter of the late Elmer and Pauline Bostic Burns of Fort Springs. She never married and had no children of her own. She lived in Fort Springs all of her life and made her home at The Brier when she could no longer live alone.
“Peepy” was special to all her nieces and nephews. She spent many hours checking on and doing for all of them and their children. She will always be remembered for her giving heart.
She had been employed by ABB until she retired to take care of her father. She suffered a stroke shortly after retirement, but the stroke did not stop her kind and giving heart. She was an angel on earth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Pauline Burns, sister, Geraldine Terry & husband Lester, niece, Christine Sims, nephew, Lester “Butch” Terry & wife Sharon, a brother, William Elmer Burns, brothers-in-law, Hershel Thompson, Forest Wilson and Eugene Pitsenbarger, and family member, Ray Pittman.
Those left to cherish her memory are sisters, Patsy Thompson and Marlene Pitsenbarger; nieces, Penny Dolan, Paula Hudson, Peggy Pittman, Tammy Jarvis, Debra Ballard; and nephews, Tommy Wilson and Bobby Sims.
Family members that helped make her life easier were, Heather, Daniel, Brooke, Kodie, Kiara, Ashton and many others.
Graveside service will be 3:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2020 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Fort Springs, with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, In lieu of flowers the family asks that you reach out and to your elderly neighbors to see if they need any assistance.
