Gertrude married Frank Wilson in 1926, he died in 1934, they had a son Forrest Franklin Wilson. She married Herman Lashley in 1940, he died in 1950, they had a son Paul Herman Lashley.
Gertrude graduated from Marietta High School in 1921 and attended Ohio University, Muskingum College and the University of Akron. She taought school at Smith's Ridge, Good Hope, Beverly and Dexter City schools. She was also employed at Citizens Bank in Beverly for 22 years and was a senior aide at Beverly Elementary School. She was a 50 year member of the Beverly United Methodist Church, and played the piano and organ for many years.
Services were held at 1 pm Friday, April 29, 1994 at Beverly United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Orphanides officiating, and burial in Beverly Cemetery.
