Fanny B. Tanner was born on December 9, 1868, in San Marcos, Texas, to Samuel "Sam" T. Tanner and his wife Lucinda Ellen "Ellen" Neal. On June 20, 1886, when she was 17, Fanny married 19-year-old Andrew Jackson Wimberley, the son of Pleasant and Amanda Wimberley. At time of their marriage, Andrew was an assistant to his father in the operation of the local mill in the town known as Wimberley, Hays County, Texas.

As their family grew, Andrew sought work in different counties; and Fanny and their children followed him in 1910 to Runnels County, in 1920 to Guadalupe County, in 1930 to San Saba County, and finally back to Hays County. Andrew and Fanny had 15 children born between 1886 and 1915--Clara Fannie, Samuel Alvin, O. B., Mellie Mae, Amanda Letress, Walter Edwin,

Lidie Ellen, Jesse Jackson, Mabel, Carrie Myrtle, Bessie Alma, Pezzie Amelia, Lewis S., Raymond Andrew, and Vesper Bill.

Fanny died on February 25, 1952, when she was 83 at her home on Route 2, San Marcos, Hays County, Texas. She died of a stroke. Her beloved husband Andrew had died 16 years earlier on May 25, 1936.

Fanny's husband Andrew Jackson Wimberley was named after President Andrew Jackson and William Burrel Cochran was a grandson, of Andrew Jackson Wimberley and Fanny B. "Tanner" Wimberley.
