Richard Baker Passes Away in Pilgrim Section

Richard Baker,life-long farmer and resident of the Pilgrim section in Gonzales county, died at his home between Pilgrim and Sample Thursday afternoon at 5:30. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Pilgrim church, at 2 o'clock, after which interment will be made in the Pilgrim cemetery. Rev. Mr. Howard will conduct the services.

Surviving Mr. Baker are his wife and four sons, besides several brothers and sisters and other relatives. His sons are: Oscar, Elmer, and Edgar Baker of Pilgrim, Clifton Baker of Sample.

He leaves a brother, Crawford Baker of Big Wells, and three half brothers, Charlie and Dewey Baker of Luling and Albert Baker of Smiley. Two sisters surviving are Mrs. Mary Tomlinson of Medina, and Mrs. Neely Rentz of Smiley.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Smiley Baptist church and during his long residence in the county has made many friends who will join in extending sympathy to the bereaved loved ones.
