BENTON, Ky. -- Eric Matthew Tolbert, 4, of Benton returned home to his heavenly father on Friday, June 5, 2009, at 4:07 p.m. Eric passed of complications stemming from treating his Burkitt's Lymphoma. He was diagnosed with cancer in December of 2008.
He fought an unbelievable battle until it was time for our angel to go home.
He was born June 12, 2004 in Mayfield.
He was preceded in death by one uncle, Jeremy Tolbert, and five great-grandparents.
He is survived by his father, Matthew Tolbert of Madisonville; his mother, Kristina Gregory and husband Tom Walton of Archer, Fla.; one brother, Ethan Gregory Tolbert of Archer; his grandparents, Earl and Diane Gregory of Benton and Gail and Renegade Stafford of Benton and Michael Tolbert of Benton; his great-grandparents, Clarence and Cora Uzzle of Calvert City and Kelly Allen of Benton; one aunt, Angie Gregory of Calif.; and one uncle, Mark Tolbert of Paducah.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Benton Church of Christ in Benton with Pastor Gary Knuckles and Pastor Michael Knight officiating. Committal services will follow at Hamlet Cemetery with Bro. Dewayne Holland officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at Benton Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Eric Tolbert Memorial Fund, c/o CFSB, P.O. Box 467, Benton, KY 42025, to benefit children with cancer. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
