Anna Smith was the daughter of Revolutionary War soldier Anderson Smith I and Priscilla Williams. She was born and raised on their farm in Pulaski Co., KY.

Anna Smith married 12 Feb 1823, Pulaski, KY to David Meese (1801-1881). Their 8 known children: Amanda, born 2 Jan 1824 Pulaski KY, & died 1915; Susanna Meese, born 1825 Pulaski, KY; Henry Meese, born 1826, Pulaski, KY; James Meese, born 1828, Pulaski, KY; Robert Meese, born 1830, Pulaski, KY; Elizabeth Meese, born 1832 Illinois; Silas Meese, born 1834 Indiana; and Joseph Mees, born 1843 in Indiana.
