Barbara Marion Addington passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the age of 82.
She was born April 26, 1924, in London, England, to Percy H. and Sara (Cissie) Evered. On March 3, 1945, she married Buford H. Addington at Penge Congregational Church and in 1946 she came to the United States on the U.S.S. Washington. She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her children Rosalie Van Booven, Paul Addington , Roger Addington and wife Carolyn, and Stephen Addington and wife Sue.
Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren Derek Van Booven, Kim McLaughlin and husband Steve, Jason Addington and wife Heather and Deana Jones and fiance Derrick Thomas as well as her step-grandchildren Robert Duke and wife Betty, Richard Duke, Mark Duke, Wendy Remy and husband J.C. and Karen Jenkyn and husband Scott. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon until 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006, at Goetz Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5 until 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1326 E. Cedar, with interment to follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Addington , Steve McLaughlin, Buster Cage, Paul Kalkwarf, Drake Ramos and Glen Amesley.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Guadalupe Valley Nursing Center for their loving care of their mother and grandmother, Dr. Phil Rinn and the staff of Guadalupe Regional Hospice Services, especially Kristy Serold.
