Jene Mathias 76, a homemaker, passed away Sunday June 7, 2009 at 5:25 AM in the St. Luke's Nursing Center, Carthage, MO.
She was born June 10, 1932 in Houston, West Virginia the daughter of Alfred Johnson and Alpha (Cobb) Johnson. Her parents, 10 brothers and 6 sisters preceded her in death.
Two step-children, Barbara Ann Evans, John Mathias and three husbands, Lee Strauss, Vernon, Spess and Marion Mathias also preceded her in death.
One step-son, Skip Mathias survives.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 10:00 Am at the Park Cemetery, Carthage, MO.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the Knell Morturary, Carthage, MO.

Phyllis Jean (Gene, Jeanne, and her favorite Jeane') went by the name of Jean. Correct spelling of 1st name may be Phillis. b. 10 June 1932, d.7 Jun 2009, Carthage, MO. Altho she claimed to have been married, nobody was ever sure she did. (Kind of a black sheep.) She died in a nursing home in Carthage, MO.
