William Bills was the son of Daniel Gersham Bills, Sr. and Deborah Denman. He was born in Lewisburg, TN which at the time was in Bedford Co. TN. (later Marshall Co., TN).
William married Susannah Hutchins 4 May 1786 in TN. She was the daughter of Strangeman Hutchins (1797-1792) and Elizabeth Cox Hutchins (b. ca 1707).
William and Susannnah had eight children:
Gersham Bills, Daniel Baxter Bills,Jonathan D. Bills, John Bills,Deborah Bills, Thomas Bills, Mary Jane Bills, and Alcey Bills.
William died in Bedford Co., TN @ the home of his son Daniel Baxter Bills. In checking records at the library in Lewisburg, we found that at the time William died Lewisburg was in Bedford Co., TN. William and Susannah were buried in the Reed Cemetery, but their marker is gone. These sites are next to the marked grave sites of their grandson James Jourden Bills (son of Jonathan D.Bills and Nancy Higgins Bills) and James' wife Margaret Ann Hayes Bills.
