Seaborne Lafayette Bonner, Sr. was born on 02 Mar 1800 in Clarke County, Georgia to Jordan Bonner, Sr. and Rachel (Moon) Bonner and died on 10 Mar 1874 in Toxey, Choctaw County, Alabama. He was 74 years old. Seaborne married Mary Martin. Seaborne and Mary had 10 children: Jordan; Harriet Virginia; Matilda; Andrew; Mary; Nancy; Elizabeth; Seaborn Lafayette, Jr.; Eliza; and Thomas.
Their daughter, Nancy, was the first person buried in Bonner Memorial Cemetery. It was the family’s rose garden originally and got converted into a cemetery.
When Jordan Bonner died, Seaborne traveled by mule-drawn wagon to retrieve his son's body. He brought it back from Mobile, Alabama to be buried in the family cemetery known as Bonner Memorial Cemetery today.
At the time of his death, Seaborne was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary (Martin) Bonner; sons, Jordan Bonner and Andrew Bonner; daughters, Mary Bonner, Nancy Bonner, and Eliza Bonner; sister, Olive (Bonner) Brown; brothers, Jordan Bonner Jr, Henry Bonner Sr, and Ahab Bonner; half-sibling, Child Bonner; half-brother, James Bonner; and possibly half-brother, Allen Bonner. He was survived by three daughters and two sons; thirteen grandchildren; one sister; five half-sisters; and three half-brothers.
