ELIZABETH R. HULSE
Elizabeth Rebecca Hulse, daughter of Hezekiah and Nancy Hulse, was born June 28th, 1843, near Beverly, Adams Co., Illinois, and was married to Ephraim Winner, September 29, 1865; and resided on a farm near Barry, Pike Co., Illinois, till the year, 1878, when they came to McPherson Co., Kansas. To this union were born eight children, four boys and four girls. Of this number, six are still living to mourn the loss of a kind mother; Rose Britton of Liberty, Missouri; Rachel McDaniel of Boise, Idaho, H. K. Winner of Marquette, Kansas, O. L. Winner of McPherson, Kansas, S. L. Winner of Marquette, Kansas; Eliza Winner of Conway, Kansas. Two having preceded her in death, Charles, dying in infancy and Mrs. Lucina Minns, dying in the year 1905. In early life she joined the Brethren church, then after coming to Kansas, she united with the U. B. Church under the ministry of Rev. Nicholls at Sharps Creek.

She died at McPherson, April 6, 1917, at the age of seventy-four years, 9 months and 6 days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Glecker at her late home in Conway at the M. E. church at 2:30 o'clock, p. m., after which the remains were laid to rest in McPherson cemetery by her late husband who preceded her two years ago, there to await the resurrection.
