Charles and a Burningham cousin left Bountiful one summer by train to work on a relatives farm in Idaho but they never arrived. They disappeared without a trace and neither boy was ever found. The train stopped in Corrine which was a lawless rough railroad town at the time. His father searched the rest of his life for his son but he never found a clue. When his father died they put his obituary in several papers hoping that their son would return for his father's funeral but to no avail.
