Hugh L. Hooks, 77 years old reseident of Greenville, died at 6 a.m. Sept. 25, 1957. A son of Hugh A. and Esther (Lasher) Hooks, he was born Aug. 24, 1880, near Montgomeryville. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah (Cornman) Hooks; a foster daughter, Mrs. Charles Dunbar of Gennesse, and a sister. Mrs. Tillie McNutt of Miami, Fla. A machinest by trade, he worked for the Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad Co. before he retired in 1947. Friends will be received at the Baird funeral home in Greenville until Sunday morning. The body then will be taken to Bauer funeral home, where respects may be paid frm 12 noon until 2 p.m. At the 2 o'clock hour Saturday, Funeral rites will be conducted by Rev. Mark Larson in the local funeral home. Burial will be made in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
