OBITUARY: Waukesha Freeman Feb. 18, 1915 "Harriet Bowman, widow of the late Henry Bowman of Genesee, died on Monday afternoon at the family home, after a short illness. The funeral was held yesterday at Genesee. Mrs. Bowman was formerly Harriet J. Paul, a native of Staffordshire, England, and came to this country with her parents in 1841. Her parents remained in New York state until 1843, when they removed to Genesee.
Miss Paul and Mr. Bowman were married at Genesee in 1854. Deceased was nearly 80 years of age.
Two children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Bowman, Mary, who was married to Eugene Proctor, and Henry
Bowman, widely known through Waukesha county. "

OBITUARY: Waukesha Freeman Feb. 25, 1915 "Mrs. Henry Bowman. - Harriett ,T. Bowman died. February 15, at her home in Genesee, this county, Mrs.
Bowman, a pioneer resident of the county. The death of Mrs. Bowman marks the passing of one of the oldest settlers in the town of Genesee. She was born at Taunton, Somersetshire, England, Oct 20, 1837. Coming to America with her parents in 1851, they took up their home at Skinnyatlas, N.Y. From there they family moved to Milwaukee. Then John Paul, her father, entered land from the government and moved to Lake Five where they lived in a one-room log house with a bark covered roof until malarial fever drove them to seek a more healthful location, when they removed to Genessee where Mrs. Bowman passed the remainder of her life. Her residence at Genesee covers a period of over seventy years.

Mrs. Bowman is survived by one son, H. A. Bowman, and one daughter, Mrs. E. H. Proctor, both of Genesee; three grandchildren, Mrs. R. M. Funk, Waukesha; Mrs. Edward Sayle (sic) , Genesee; and Mrs. Fred Finney, Genesee, and four great grandchildren; also two brothers, S. J. Paul, La Farge, Wis., and J. T. Paul, Oconomowoc, survive. Interment was in the Genesee cemetery on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The many beautiful floral tributes offered by friends and relatives were emblematic of the high esteem in which she was held by the community."
