Willard Earl Baker, 96, of Pocahontas, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at Pocahontas Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was born June 1, 1912, in Springfield, Mo., to the late James Oscar Baker and Iletta Thomas. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ross and Neil Baker, and a sister, Blanche Wisehart. He is survived by his wife, Lois Marie Baker of the home; two sons, Willard Baker Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and David Baker of Livingston, Texas; one daughter, Dona Wadsworth of Dalton; seven grandchildren: Dean Baker of Edmond, Okla., Stephanie Freemon of Fort Worth, Texas, Tracy Swan of Edmond, Carrie Morris of Edmond, Brad Wadsworth of Hong Kong, China, Toni Wad¬sworth of Piano, Texas, and Paige Baker of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Harris of Pocahontas, and a brother, Roy Baker of Heber Springs. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Don Strait officiating. Burial followed in Stubblefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike James, Max Oakley, Dean Baker, Daniel Harris, Randy Brooks and David Wellman. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
