She was brought into this world Jan. 31, 1929, in Vernon, Texas.
Joy was predeceased by her parents, Homer Sr. and Mary Hite, two brothers, Homer Jr. and Roy Dean, a sister, Lawanda Jean Hite Kissell and a son, Robert Boswell II.
She is survived by one sister, Reece L. Fay Makert and husband, Jim, daughters, Carol Edwards and husband Gary, of the home in Norman, and Jackie Pucci in Italy; grandchildren, Leslie (Edwards) Lindig, Christopher Edwards, Marco Pucci of Italy, Rob Boswell, England, Keith Boswell, U.S. Military, Jim Boswell, Dallas; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family who loved her very much.
Joy was always loved and admired by all who knew her. As her son, Robert wrote in a song, "... with her makeup off and her flannel gown she glides gracefully cross the floor ..." Dressed up or down, she was gracious and elegant in any situation, at any time.
She introduced many to her Lord, Jesus, whom she loved dearly and praised continuously
Interment will be in Provence Cemetery, Provence Road, Dickson, Oklahoma, following a graveside memorial on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. All are welcome who knew and loved her
