Word has been received here of the death Wednesday of Jasper James Barkhimer, 61, 318 E. Hill Valley, Indianapolis. He was the husband of the former Norma (Ruth) Hendershot, and a former Columbus resident. He had had a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the G.H. Herrmann Madison avenue funeral home, 5141 Madison, Indianapolis. Burial will be here at the Garland Brook cemetery.

Barkhimer was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Clifford to James Wesley and Margaret Mae Farrel Barkhimer. He married the former Norma Hendershot who survives. A self-employed contractor and carpenter, he had worked as a subcontractor for several companies in Indianapolis and for the Orman O. McKinley company at one time for 15 years. They moved to Indianapolis from Columbus in 1937.

Surviving with the wife are a son, Jack L. Barkhimer, Waverly Woods in Martinsville; a brother, Elmer L. Barkhimer, Miami, Fla.; a sister, Marcia Gladys Graham, Tulsa, Okla., and two grandchildren.
