Kerry was born and raised in Fort Pierce and enlisted in 3 January 1968 in the Marines at the Coral Gables Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam 14 July 1968 he was assigned as a Rifleman (MOS:0311)to Delta Company,1st Battalion,5th Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division.The company was participating in Operation Mameluke when they engaged hostile forces near Dai Kuong,about four kilometers northwest of An Hoa Airfield.
Kerry died as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile small arms fire.He was single and served his country for 7 months and 26 days.
