From the Middlebury Register, Jan. 19, 1912:
Myron H. Langworthy died at his home on Seminary street at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday forenoon after an illness of several months, following an operation on his face for a cancer at a Burlington hospital early last summer. After the operation Mr. Langworthy seemed to improve for a few weeks and then began to decline, and for the past month has been every day on the point of death. Mr. Langworthy was a member of Co. M., 26th Vol. Cavalry of New York in the Civil War and was 67 years of age. He is survived by a widow and two sons, Rufus Langworthy of Hinsdale, N. H., and Fred H. Langworthy of Lancaster, N. H., who with their wives have arrived in town. The funeral services will be held at the house of the deceased at 2 o'clock this (Friday) afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. John Adams Bold, rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal church and the interment will be in the West cemetery. Mr. Langworthy was a member for many years of William P. Russel post, No. 89, G.A.R. of Middlebury and the pall bearers will be chosen from members of the post.
