Edgar was born the son of the late Edgar and Sue (Fairchild) Kessler. Edgar served in the United States Navy for 26 years and retired as a Lieutenant. He was a Senior Chief Radioman and he was Submarine and Surface Warfare qualified. Edgar went to school and obtained his Clinical Masters in social work. He later retired from the V.A. Medical Hospital in Houston, Texas from his position as a Clinical Social Worker. Edgar's hobbies included his ham radio, working on stained glass, painting and being an artist and writer. Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Franklin Kessler, II and Sue (Fairchild) Kessler.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Dabbs) Kessler of Pearland, Texas; daughters, Karen (Kessler) Church of Huntsville, Alabama, Suann (Dabbs) Kessler of Pearland, Texas and Mary (Dabbs) Kessler of Pearland, Texas; son, Mathew David Kessler of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchild, Noah James Church of Huntsville, Alabama; sisters, Bonnie Jean (Kessler) Bell of Bountiful, Utah and Terry Lee Kessler of Canada; and brother, Thomas George Kessler of Punta Gorda, Florida. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
