Obituary

Catherine Matilda, wife of Herman H. DeVore, died on Monday at her residence. Saddle River Road, Ho-Ho-Kus, after a lingering add painful illness. About a year ago she underwent an operation and never regained her health.

Mrs. DeVore, who had reached her fifty-eighth year, was beloved by a large circle of acquaintances. Although her Illness caused her great suffering, she was most patient, appreciating the slightest effort in her behalf.

She had been unconscious for a number of days and the end came as a peaceful sleep.

Her funeral was held this afternoon from her late residence at one o'clock, and at two o'clock services were conducted in the Paramus Reformed Church at which its former pastor, Rev, W. H. Vroom, D. assisted by the present pastor, the Rev. Henry D. Cook, The Interment was at Valleau cemetery.

Mrs. DeVore is survived by her husband and five children: Mrs. Henry G. Ackerman of Waldwick; Mrs. R. R. Greason of New York City; Mrs. Charles T. Morison of New York City; Miss Elsie, who is at home, and John DeVore the Borough Clerk and Collector of Ho-Ho-Kus. Mayor I. B.
