MARJORIE E. GORDON, 84, cashier at Fisher Foods
AMHERST -- Marjorie E. Gordon (nee Krieg), 84, of Amherst, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at home, following a three-year illness.
She was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Amherst.
She graduated from Amherst High School in 1939 and worked as a cashier at the former Fisher Foods in Amherst until the late 1940s.
She was a past Board of Elections precinct worker, past member of Amherst Firefighters Association Ladies Auxiliary and member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, all in Amherst. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Bruce Gordon of Chagrin Falls; daughter, Peggy Gawelek of Fairview Park; brother, Russell Krieg of San Antonio, Texas; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, George A. Gordon, in 2001; her parents, Jacob and Ella (nee Reinhardt) Krieg; brother, James Krieg, in 1983; and a granddaughter.
Friends may call Monday, 5 to 7 p.m., at Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst, where services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
