FRANCIS P. BRADY 22, technician fifth grade in the infantry, was killed by an artillery shell fragment April 6, l945 near Rittergut Bladenhorst, Germany.

His mother, Mrs. John C. Brady, was notified first that Cpl. Brady was missing, later informed of his death in action.

A native of Elkhart, he had spent most of his life in Wabash where he was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic church, attended the parochial and Wabash High schools, and worked for the Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator Company, leaving there to enlist in Jan l943. He had been overseas three months.

He was buried in the American Military cemetery at Margraten, Holland.

BODY OF F.P. BRADY BEING RETURNED HERE FOR BURIAL
Mrs. John C. Brady, 193 East Maple street, has received word that the body of her son, T/5 Francis P. Brady, killed in action in Germany, April 6, 1945, is bieng returned to this country aboard the U.S. Army Transport Barney Kirchbaum.

The Jones Funeral home will arrange the services when the body does arrive and the funeral home will be notified about five days prior to the arrival in Wabash.

The young man was born in Elkhart, Dec. 1, 1222 to John C. and Ella M. (McCreary) Brady. The family moved later to Wabash where the decedent attended St. Bernard's parochial school and was graduated from Wabash High School. Before entering the service in January 1942, he was employed in the office of the Minneapolis-Honeywell Regulator company.

Sgt. Brady was sent overseas in Janary 1945, and was with the 291st infantry division.

Survivors include the mother and four brothers, John C. Jr. at home, Donald J., Stevenson, Wash, Robert E. and Thomas R. Wabash.
