Julia Mae Puffer Jack, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2009, surrounded by her family. Private graveside services will be at Union Cemetery, rural Mechanicsville. Morgan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her three daughters, Patricia Coon, Susan Sullivan-Smith, and Barbara (John) Bardsley, all of Lisbon; and son Michael of Mechanicsville. Also surviving Julia is a brother, Donald Puffer of Mechanicsville; nine grandchildren, Mindy Coon (Mark) Fuller, Tim (Dannielle) Coon, Jason (Karrie) Coon, Rod (Melissa) Sullivan, Sarah (Spencer) Gross, Andy (Terrie) Sullivan, Mary (Gunnar) Vizecky, Natasha Jack-Hanlin, and Zachary Jack; 19 great-grandchildren, Quincy, Ashley, and Samuel Fuller, Steve and Seth Coon, Loryn, Jacob, and Kaleb Coon, Rachel, Jordan, and B.J. Sullivan, Reilly Rose and Ryan Gross, Meegan and Katelyn Murray, Levi and Wiley Sullivan, Henry and Ezra Hanlin; and one great-great-granddaughter, Paris Fuller.

Preceding Julia in death were her parents, Everette and Grace Kohl Puffer; her husband, Edward; sister, Mary Brown; and son-in-law, Wayne Smith.

Julia was born May 21, 1916, on the Puffer family farm near Mechanicsville. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1935 and attended Cornell College. Julia married Edward L. Jack, Dec. 11, 1940, in Mechanicsville. She and her husband loved the land they farmed. He died Nov. 27, 2002. Julia was a talented and creative artist and treasured all that nature has to give. Julia deeply valued her family, friends and neighbors. She was a devoted caregiver to four generations of her family.
