Table Rock Argus, Dec. 16, 1910.

BENJAMIN BALL-

"Uncle Benny Ball", who came to Table Rock with his wife in 1857, died at the home of his adopted daughter, Mrs. Snoke, on Saturday afternoon. His early life was fraught with the dangers and privations incident of the pioneer life, and borne with the courage and determination which characterized the early settlers of Nebraska. He witnessed the transformation of the Nebraska Prairies into the beautiful and productive farms of today, and bore his part of the development, until the infirmities of age forced him to retire from active work, but Mr. Ball's influence was always for the right. He and his wife were earnest members of the M. E. church and the ground on which the church stands was given to the cause- a monument to their faithfulness.

Benjamin Ball was born in Pennsylvania February 4, 1823. He married Elizabeth Knowlton in 1854. They came to Nebraska in 1857, having encountered many of the trials of the pioneer life. Joined the M. E. church many years ago and has since lived a Christian life. For nearly three years, since the death of his wife, he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Snoke, and has borne the latter years of his life with great patience. He died Saturday at 2 p.m. December 10, 1910. On Monday afternoon last, he was buried from the M. E. church in Table Rock, the ground on which the church stands was given by Mr. Ball. The sermon was preached by Dr. C. E. Ruch of Humboldt a former pastor, from the text in Heb. 11:16. Dr. Woodcock the pastor of the church, had charge of the services, and pronounced an eulogium at the close. The interment was in the beautiful cemetery adjacent to the town.
