Helen was the 4th of 9 children raised on a 200 acre dry wheat farm just north of Lehigh Montana where she went to grade school. In the winter months the Koval and some neighbor children would form a line big to small breaking the snow drifts and walking over a burning coal slack pile to get to school a mile and half away. Helen remembered hold on to her older brother Andy's coat tails. She went to school in Windham Montana, played on the Girls Basketball team, jumping center though she was the shortest on the team. Her dad died when she was 16 leaving her mother and children to maintain the farm. She was working as a maid in Great Falls when she met and married Oliver Peters. The couple worked a while on her mothers farm, when Helen was pregnant with her son Wilfred, who was delivered at the farm by Mrs. Dresdren, an
ex-WWI army nurse and Mr Glispie the local Pharmacist. The couple with her son and husbands brother then found mining work at various western mining towns, Landusky & Butte montana, Ending up in Clear Creek, UT in 1936, On to Eureka Ut 1937-41, Scofield 41-44, back to Clear creek in 1945. In Clear Creek Helen first worked as a maid in the Miners Hospital, when Dr Hardy found her skills, He trained her as a Aide. Helen's Husband died in 1964 and she moved to Ogden Utah in 1965, There she worked as a Nurses aide in HillCrest Convalescent center retiring when she was 83 years old
